St Andrews Colts Academy

Welcome to the homepage for Rugby St Andrews RFC's Colts Academy.

The Academy was formed in 2016 to help support young players and provide them with a competitive and smooth transition from Junior to Senior rugby. They are introduced into the senior club and are given opportunities to train and play with the senior players.

The Academy is open to all players aged 15-18. We have two age groups in the Academy - our Under 17's and Under 18's.

The St Andrews Colts Academy is a key part of our 'One Club' philosophy. Our coaching strategy begins with the clubs' Head Coach, Craig Jones, who is looking to develop players with the skills and aptitude to join our senior squads. Craig works in close partnership with our Academy Director Alan Parish. Alan is supported the Squads Head Coaches, Ian Spencer and Dean Smith.

The Academy has been a great success story for St Andrews, with 25 players having just graduated from the Academy. 15 have moved on to join University Teams and we have retained and signed 10 players who have now joined our Senior Squad.

Training takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. Most of our matches are played on a Saturday afternoon.
