Minis & Juniors
Training
Training takes place on Sunday mornings for all sections. Junior teams normally have another training session one evening in the week.
Mini’s - Under 6s to Under 12s train from 10am between 60 to 90 minutes
Juniors- Under 13s to Under 16s train from 12 Noon
All players are coached by accredited Sport England coaches under the guidance of the Club Head Coach with the following objectives:
To significantly improve your overall fitness
To significantly improve your competitive performanceBecome a confident, knowledgeable and skilled player of rugby
Understand and apply club game strategy including calls and set plays
Appreciate that every player brings something valuable and different to the game.
Accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.
Support and promote their club and its members
Matches
Matches are played on Sundays dependant on the fixture. Some junior games could be played on Friday evenings when necessary.
All fixtures information will be posted each week on the news section on the home page and coaches will be keeping all parents up to date each week.
Kit
Players must wear the following kit for training and competitive games:-
Rugby or football boots
Gumshield
Shin pads if possible
Training tops
Socks
Shorts or tracksuit bottoms if conditions are cold
Layers of clothing will be required as we move towards winter and the colder months
Match Shirts
Provided by the club for each registered player and distributed by the coaches. Our shirts and kit are produced by Canterbury and are of good quality. Each squad has a team sponsor, and the shirts remain the property of the club.
Club Shop
St Andrews has an excellent shop which sells all kit required including quality 2nds for a very reasonable price. The shop is managed by Keeley who is often set up in the clubhouse on Sunday mornings. Please use the contact form if you would like to get hold of Keeley.
Player Subs
All players pay subs for the season. Single player is £50 per season and family membership is £80 per season. Your subs go towards payment for:-
Pitches and marking out
Coaching
Pitch side physio and injury care plan back to fitness (when necessary)
Training equipment
Kit and match shirts
Club facilities including showers changing room and bar.
Player Registration Each Season
Each child must be registered with the RFU following the process below
Go to https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/Account/Login.
Login using your username and the password you set up last year. (If you have forgotten your password then you can reset it by following the instructions on the website). If you have not logged in before, follow the steps to create a new account. Once set up follow these steps, in full from point 1.
You will then see your welcome page, with sections for you and your child. Can you first click on your icon and check all the details are correct, i.e., address, contact number and email. This can be done by clicking on the Edit button on the right-hand side of the top banner section which shows your details.
Next if you click on your child’s icon and complete the steps above, including the “Update Waivers” section on the left-hand side.
