With AEI struggling for players, Saints lent their visitors a number of players ensuring that a 13 a side game could be played. Saints generosity backfired with two of the loaned players crossing for the opening AEI tries. With so many gaps appearing with the reduced numbers on the field it was an end-to-end game which also saw a number of injuries and fatigue reduce both teams to 11 players. Saints managed to give a good amount of game time to a number of new players and will take a moral victory with Saints players registering 10 of the 13 tries scored even if four of them were scored for players in AEI colours. An entertaining game played in front of a large crowd in the right spirit ensuring that 26 local players had a run out on a Saturday afternoon meaning that Rugby was the winner on the day.
