St Andrews Mini's

Welcome to the homepage for Rugby St Andrews RFC's Mini's.

St Andrews Mini's and Juniors is one of the towns oldest established children's Rugby clubs

We offer a great opportunity for children aged 5-15 to experience and play Rugby.

All our coaching staff are fully qualified RFU coaches, and have all undergone enhanced DBS background checks. Child welfare is always at the heart of our M&J's activites.

M&J's training and matches take place on a Sunday morning.

Welcome to a brand new season of Mini and Junior Rugby here at Rugby St. Andrews RFC.

Rugby St Andrews RFC is a family focused rugby club which is proud to be right at the heart of our local community here in Hillmorton.

Our Mini and Junior teams provide local children with a great opportunity to try and to play the game of rugby. We have teams that cover all age grades, starting from our Under 6's, right through to our Under 18's.

Everyone here at St. Andrews is incredibly proud of the attitude, achievements and sportsmanship shown by all our young players and their families. As a club, we passionately believe that all of our children should enjoy playing their sport. The core ethos at St Andrews is all about learning how to win together, to lose together and most importantly, to have fun!

The club aims to ensure that all of our young players, coaches, parents, spectators and volunteers uphold the Core Values of Rugby Union: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. These values will stand our young people in good stead both on and off the rugby pitch and are reflected in the RFU’s Code of Rugby.

To ensure that Rugby St Andrews RFC fully supports this code, we:

  • Play to win - but not at all cost ● Win with dignity, lose with grace ● Observe the laws and regulations of the game ● Respect opponents, referees and participants ● Reject cheating, racism, violence and drugs ● Value our volunteers and paid officials alike ● Enjoy the game!

Our success as a club is due to the great commitment of all our young players, the efforts and dedication of our qualified and enthusiastic coaches and volunteers, our parents and supporters and of course all our wonderful sponsors. We would like to thank you all and we look forward to your continued support this season.

St Andrews are Champions!

Last season was a highly successful one for our club, with our 1st XV Squad crowned champions of Midlands Division 3 West (South). As champions, our promotion will see us playing is season in Midlands Division 2 West (South). So why not come along on a Saturday and support The Saints!

The most important part of this success was how it was achieved. All of the players who currently play in our 1st Team, started their playing careers playing Mini and Junior Rugby right here at St Andrews! Home grown players, who went on to become champions!

This is such an important value that we strive to nurture and develop as a club. St Andrews will always be committed to the on going development of our players and our rugby offering. Throughout the club, we are delighted to see a growing number of players who are progressing up through the age levels and into our senior teams. Keeping our young players engaged in the sport means that they will continue to benefit from being part of the rugby family and from the friendships and health benefits that the game can offer.

The 2018/19 Season

We have a packed fixture list and a full programme of social events coming up during the 2018/19 season. We would be delighted to see all our players and their families become fully involved with all of the clubs games and events this season.

The beginning of the season is always a really busy time for the clubs officials, so I would please ask for your patience and understanding when registering your child. There are many tasks to perform to ensure that the club lives up to its high standards and that your children are properly registered and cared for in the coming season. Subs need to be paid and registration completed before your child plays their first game, as they will not be insured to play without them. If any parent or guardian has a particular financial need, this can be discussed in complete confidence either with Lorraine Marston, our Club Welfare Officer or with myself as the club's Chairman.

Please remember that you remain responsible for your children at all training sessions or matches. Can I also please remind you that you must stay with your children whilst they are in the Mini Section.

Hopefully, this pack contains all of the information that you will need for the coming season. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask any member of our coaching staff or any of our committee members. You can also get further information throughout the season from the club’s website standrewsrfc.co.uk and via our team’s various social media sites.

If you enjoy being apart of the St Andrews family, I would really encourage you to get involved. It's great fun! We will always welcome your help. If you can help out in any way, please come and have a chat with me. YOUR CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE TO ALL OUR YOUNG PLAYERS!

Finally, on behalf of everyone here at the club, may I wish you very warm welcome to another great season here at Rugby St Andrews RFC.

Yours sincerely,

Simon McAusland
